On 12 May, Boris Johnson announced that the order to work from home wherever possible is to end from 21 June (certainly in England).
This appears to contradict advice from SAGE, the government’s scientific advisors. They suggest the measure should continue through the summer and, with the Indian Variant accelerating, ending all restrictions is considered premature.

‘Recruitment is broken’ | Data shows HALF of hires aren't working out
Despite coronavirus prompting many businesses to freeze recruitment until the crisis subsided, some employers have been forced to hire new recruits in order to cope with the new ways of working.
But it seems that not all of these new hires are working out. In fact, new research has found that over half (57%) of all hires made in the last 12 months are not working out in some capacity. According to talent assessment platform provider Thomas International, 25% of new hires are not working out at all.
The 2021: Mind the trust gap report surveyed 500 senior hiring managers and recruiters in the UK, which found that a poor fit between candidate and role (46%) and poor fit between candidate and culture (44%) are the top two reasons that the majority of hires aren’t working out.
